Comprehensive analysis of polarimetric radar cross-section parameters for insect body width and length estimation

چکیده

The length and width of insect body are critical parameters for entomological radar species identification. However, the is not measurable in currently. In this study, scattering matrices (SM) 159 specimens were measured using an X-band fully polarimetric laboratory rig a microwave anechoic chamber. relationships between cross-section (RCS) extracted from SM studied. It was found that all these have good correlations with can be used to estimate it. mopping RCS built, as empirical formulas estimation. addition, based on parameters, two new estimation methods proposed. performance proposed when echo signals noisy analyzed. parameter represents product RCSs polarization direction parallel perpendicular axis has best both length.
